Today I wanted to write about my favorite drug store foundation. I don’t know about you, but I was always very hesitant to try drug store makeup. I’m not sure why since I’m fortunate enough to not have sensitive skin, but I always just had the idea that drug store makeup was crappy makeup (with the exception of lip gloss – yes, I was that 7 year old girl with 5 Smackers lip glosses in her backpack at all times.) It really wasn’t until I started watching beauty gurus on Youtube that I decided to give drug store makeup a try. *Side note: I was not the high maintenance chick who only bought high end makeup, I found a happy medium with MAC (My mom had a pro-card so I put that baby to use!*)
Let’s get to the point here. Now that I am comfortable with trying drug store makeup, I have actually fallen in LOVE with the RIGHT products. By that, I mean, there is some truth behind being warry of drug store makeup. There are most definitely cheap products out there that are a waste of your money (even if it is only $5.99). With the help of beauty gurus, I have found some awesome products which brings me to my favorite drug store foundation (and my favorite of all time, actually) which is (dum, dum, dum…) the L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation in the shade 108 [Caramel Beige] coming in at the wonderful price of $ 12.99.
This foundation is GORGEOUS!! It is medium coverage but easily build-able if you like a more full coverage foundation. Although it is “Matte”, I don’t believe that it is overly matte. It’s matte enough to where you are not extremely dewy but nothing a little highlighter can’t fix. This foundation is perfect for oily skin because it will mute out a lot of the oils on your face. If you are dry, make sure to apply a moisturizer before applying this foundation (which you should be doing with all foundations, anyway!). This foundation has quickly climbed up to my favorites list. It truly has a great finish, lasts all day, and you can’t beat the price. I will upload a picture for you all showing what it looks like at the beginning of the day and towards the end of the day. Thanks for reading!
