My week in Costa Rica

I’m backkkk! I had an incredible past week in Costa Rica and I wanted to share some of my experience/pictures with my fabulous subscribers. My family and I take a trip every summer and this year, we decided to take our talents to Costa Rica (LBJ reference, get it? No? Okay, moving on…) We stayed in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. This meant that we were in legit Costa Rica, not the touristy, resort environment. I have grown up going to Nicaragua (where my parents are from) and seeing the way people live in a country like that so I am used to not staying in fancy-shmancy hotels.

We visited a lot of little towns. One thing about Costa Rica is that everything seems so far away from each other (boo)! We spent a lot of time in the car which can get annoying especially when you’re with a party of 8! Although driving was NOT fun, getting to experience waterfalls, hot springs, and different beaches was my favorite part of the trip.

My top 3 favorite moments of the trip- La Fortuna Waterfall, Arenal Hot Springs, and ATVing in Tamarindo (See pics below). I saw my very first waterfall earlier this year when I went to Portland and I instantly fell in love. Having the chance to see another waterfall in Costa Rica was just as incredible! One word to describe Costa Rica: GREEN- so being outside in the lush rain forest was truly beautiful. After we went to the waterfall, we drove another 20 minutes to get to the Arenal Hot Springs. WOW, was this an amazing experience. It was so surreal being in what is essentially a large, natural hot tub. The water was at least 75 degrees. There is a nearby volcano and this is how the natural springs gets so hot! The second I put my feet in the waterfall, I instantly started smiling and laughing because it was just an incredible experience. Lastly, we rented ATVs in Tamarindo and had such a fun time. It was a 2 hour tour that took us to 4 different beaches. The beaches we saw were amazing!

Needless to say, Costa Rica was absolutely beautiful. As I get older, I’m realizing more and more how important travelling is. I am extremely blessed that my family and I can take these kinds of trips every year as I know many don’t get that opportunity. I hope you all enjoy these pictures! Thanks for reading, stay tuned for makeup posts this week! xoxo
